Carbon Disclosure Project

It is an international non-profit organization that offers a global disclosure system on the environmental management of companies. More than 4,500 organizations report their environmental impact data to this organization.

Celsia is part of this report and in 2015 obtained 90 points in Disclosure (supply and quality of information) and D in actions to address risks and opportunities in climate change.

International Center of Hydraulic Energy

The ICH is an institution supported by the Norwegian government that promotes the development and utilization of hydropower resources. It is internationally recognized as an organization with the ability to acquire and share knowledge and experience in order to strengthen the energy sector.

Global Compact

Celsia joined the Global Compact in August 2012. That way, the organization is committed to support and implement a set of core values in the Field of Human Rights, Labor Rights, Environmental Rights and the fight against corruption, described this way:

Human rights

  • Principle 1: support and respect the protection of universally recognized fundamental human rights within their sphere of influence.
  • Principle 2: make sure not to be accomplices in human rights violations.

Labor Standards

  • Principle 3: Support Freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining.
  • Principle 4: support the elimination of all forms of forced or compulsory labor.
  • Principle 5: the effective abolition of child labor.
  • Principle 6: support the abolition of discrimination in employment and occupation.


  • Principle 7: maintain a preventive approach favoring the environment.
  • Principle 8: encourage initiatives that promote greater environmental responsibility.
  • Principle 9: encourage the development and diffusion of technologies that respect the environment.


  • Principle 10: work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.

CEO Water Mandate

Initiative that is part of the Global Compact of the United Nations, which seeks to support companies in the development, implementation and dissemination of policies and practices related to water sustainability.

Groupo Argos, Argos and Celsia are committed to make efficient and responsible use of water resources, integrally managing the risks associated with its consumption. Its management has focused on two main areas: water use efficiency and water risk management.
Being aware that water is an increasingly less available resource in quality and quantity and that these companies use this natural resource as raw material in their production processes the CEO Water Mandate is signed. This commitment is consistent with the development of the Corporate Sustainability Policy, which seeks to balance economic profitability, social and environmental development.

The CEO Water Mandate covers six elements:

  • Supply chain and watershed management
  • Collective Action
  • Public Policies
  • Community Involvement
  • Transparency
