I Choose to Take Care of Myself


Our I Choose to Take Care of Myself program is more than just the name of our Occupational Health and Safety Management System; it is a brand that reflects our determination to stay healthy and safe. We are 10 years old and now it is stronger, we have consolidated an integral Occupational Health and Safety system based on the PHVA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle, which consists of 12 key elements to promote and maintain a safe and healthy environment

YEC has a comprehensive approach supported by a governance scheme with interdisciplinary committees and specialized teams, YEC encourages participation, minimizes risks, strengthens operational resilience and complies with ethical regulations. Its success depends on the daily commitment and continuous training of employees and contractors.

 

Processes and Procedures for Reporting Occupational Hazards


Our safety principles are within the Occupational Health and Safety Policy as guidelines, covering employees, contractors and visitors, and they have the support of senior management for people to be able to express: “I am an example and have the right to say ‘stop’ to unsafe actions and conditions.”

We have an exclusive WhatsApp Business line for reporting unsafe conditions. Any interested party can use it to easily and anonymously make a report, triggering an investigation process in which we maintain confidentiality and support.

Occupational Health and Safety Training


We know that to achieve the goals set in Occupational Health and Safety we must strive every day and train our employees and contractors.

We focus on topics such as: promotion of physical and mental health care, Induction and re-induction in Occupational Health and Safety, training in the I Choose to Take Care of Myself tools (I Choose to Observe, Operational Discipline, Incident Investigation and Analysis and Contractor Management), High Risk Tasks (height, confined spaces, electrical risk, load lifting, hazardous energies) and Risk Management.

Our strategy goes beyond legal compliance; our program Yo elijo cuidarme como estilo de vida (I choose to take care of myself as a lifestyle) promotes healthy lifestyles in which we focus on the implementation of different action plans to ensure the appropriate conditions for the development of a safe work and improve the quality of life of our employees and their families.

Our employees, partners and contractors are committed to their safety in the performance of their technical tasks. In all our subsidiaries we have a Management System with a preventive approach in which we carry out different activities such as OSH Training and Education Programs according to risk, drills, training and sharing spaces that help us to prevent risks from materializing and affecting the health of employees and contractors and corrective where we investigate incidents, establish action plans and perform ongoing monitoring of occupational health and safety issues.
