We adapt to our social and political environment

In markets like ours, where natural monopoly activities
coexist with competitive ones, an adequate regulatory framework ensures
the best conditions for users, eliminates market failures, and promotes competitive prices.

At Celsia, we recognize that the social and political environment is key to implementing our investment strategy, driving new business models, and achieving our established goals. Our actions are related to issues such as access, quality, and reliability, as well as the operation and growth of the organization. Additionally, they are subject to a regulatory framework that we work to adapt in response to market needs and developments.

As a company, we have adapted to the political and social environment of the energy sector. Our management has allowed us to reach agreements with the government, unions and communities for regulatory and tariff changes to be made that contribute to the current problems, such as the effect of inflation on rates or compensation to the communities in which we develop projects.

We respect institutionality and regulatory stability, knowing they are sources of confidence for investment. In addition, we are proactive and attentive to regulatory changes related to this topic and, in turn, participate in unions and public consultations carried out by the governments of the countries in which we are present.

Contributions

We allocate our contributions and dues to the fees we pay as members of non-profit associations and committees, as part of our commitment to the professional, social, business, and environmental development of the sectors we belong to by the nature of our operations. Together with these organizations, we delve into and contribute technical studies and arguments on strategic issues for the country’s energy sector. We are convinced that delivering a high-quality, reliable service with tangible benefits for our customers will increasingly turn them into loyal fans of Celsia.

Security and Blockages

Managing sociopolitical risks across projects and facilities is a strategic priority for us.

We seek solutions that ensure the success of our approach in this area and strengthen relationships with our stakeholders and strategic partners through sustainable and collaborative development. Understanding the context in which we operate guides us to be more dynamic in facing the challenges and opportunities that arise.

Managing the sociopolitical risks identified in all headquarters and projects is essential to Celsia’s Resource Protection team and requires continuous work. This is in order to guarantee safe conditions for employees, contractors and communities in our areas of influence. We perform this process through our partners, the private security company and public forces, and it forms a strategic pillar for guaranteeing business continuity.

The management of sociopolitical risks also involves addressing social incidents that occur within our areas of influence, whether caused by communities or other social actors present in the territories, as these can impact our operations as well as our direct and ongoing relationships. That is why, when a social incident occurs, we conduct a comprehensive analysis and define response actions, prioritizing dialogue and respect, and involving competent institutional actors when necessary.
